The review assessed the performance of the evaluation function and the extent to which the organization has responded to the requirements of the policy and identified lessons and recommended areas for the attention of the Executive Board, senior management and the Evaluation Office. The team of consultants conducted the review through two visits to NY headquarters and select country visits to interview UNDP staff and partners.

The comments on the final report of the Senior Independent Advisors, who guided the team of consultants are also posted. The role of the Advisors was critical as the Evaluation Office did not manage or quality assure the report.

The review will be formally presented by the independent team to the Executive Board during its annual session in June 2010. UNDP is currently preparing a management response to the review that will also be presented to the Executive Board.
