IPDET 2019

Overview

The International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET) is an executive training program in development evaluation. It is managed jointly by the Center for Continuing Education at the University of Bern (Switzerland), the Center for Evaluation at Saarland University (Germany) and the Independent Evaluation Group of the World Bank.

This unique training program brings together global expertise in development evaluation to build foundational and advanced knowledge and skill in evaluation. It is conducted each year in July in Bern, the capital of Switzerland.

IPDET aims to provide managers and practitioners in the field of evaluation with the tools required to evaluate policies, programs and projects at local, national, regional, and global levels, as well as to commission, manage and especially use those evaluations for decision-making.

Bern and Switzerland provide an attractive site with numerous tourist highlights, easy and rapid access to two international airports (Zurich and Geneva), and the presence of universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations and international firms. The city offers IPDET participants not only excellent study conditions, but also a supportive learning environment with many opportunities for networking and exchange.
