Overview

The UN-Habitat Evaluation Policy, which was approved by the UN-Habitat Management Board in March 2013, provides the institutional framework for the effective conduct and management of UN-Habitat’s evaluations.

The purpose of the policy is to establish the overall framework for evaluation at UN-Habitat and to foster the culture of evaluation across the organization. The policy is also intended to facilitate conformity of evaluation at UN-Habitat with best practices, and with the norms and standards of the United Nations Evaluation Group (UNEG). The policy seeks to support accountability and to increase the generation and use of knowledge from evaluations for effective results-based management, decision- making and organizational learning.
