Overview

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) released The Jamaica Country Portfolio Study (1994-2010).

The Jamaica Country Portfolio Study (1994-2010) was one of two country portfolio studies conducted in 2011 examining Global Environment Facility (GEF) support in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

The study found that GEF support in all focal areas has helped Jamaica develop good capacity in environmental management and link to international best practices. The study also found that GEF support in Jamaica has been relevant to its national environmental goals and priorities, as well as to the country?s efforts to fulfill its obligations under the international agreements to which it is a signatory.

The Jamaica Country Portfolio Study was conducted in parallel with a country evaluation being conducted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Evaluation Office in Jamaica.

The report is also available on the GEF Evaluation Office Web Site at  http://www.thegef.org/gef/CPS%20Jamaica. Please also find attached the report (two volumes) and a brief summary.

The GEF Evaluation Office would like to thank all who collaborated with the study and all those involved for their support and useful criticism.

For any inquiries you might have about the study, please contact GEF Evaluation Office by email at gefevaluation@theGEF.org.
