Alexander Voccia is a communications and knowledge management expert, specialized in crafting strategies at the highest levels within the UN system. Over the past twenty years, Alexander has given shape to the campaigns, statements, reports, media relations, on-line presence and communication deliverables of senior-most UN officials, as well as of international policy makers and global leaders. Currently, Alexander is the Coordinator of the Evaluation Communication Unit, at the Independent Office of Evaluation of IFAD (IOE). A cohort of new communication resources now define the Office’s visual persona, embodying its independent stature tout court. This, as a result of a brand-new approach to strategic communications, encompassing avant-garde outreach and knowledge management pathways, which have spawned a plethora of state-of-the-art products.

Alexander also worked for the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, in New York, where he served as communication and knowledge management focal point for external relations with the media, as well with the office of the Secretary-General and Under Secretary-General on matters related to small island developing States. In addition, Alexander held various positions at the UN World Food Programme, where he served as policy focal point for liaison with the UNSG’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, H.M. Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, and where he designed and rolled-out the first lessons learned and best practices corporate knowledge sharing system to be mainstreamed across all WFP country offices and regional bureau.
